TIGIST
LAYNE
Journalist
Welcome
Hi, I'm Tigist and I want to tell the world's stories. This is the best way I can describe why I do what I do. Journalism and photography have given me a lens through which to view the people, places and events around me. Through my passions and skillset, I hope to use journalism to understand and to do good.
I am a reporter at Voice of San Diego covering North County. I report on city governments, homelessness, housing, the working class and more.
Before Voice of San Diego, I was a reporter for the Coast News. I graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University with a major in journalism and a minor in public relations. I am interested in utilizing my passion for writing and storytelling to pursue a future in print news, magazines or photography.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
